Entrepreneur Jane delighted to fly first Mustang in Europe
Entrepreneur Jane Howell, the first European customer to take delivery of a Citation Mustang, received special training that enabled her to fly it to the U.K. She reports: "It is well suited for getting above most weather and commercial traffic."

Entrepreneur Jane Howell, the first European customer to take delivery of a Citation Mustang, received special training that enabled her to fly it to the U.K.

She reports: "It is well suited for getting above most weather and commercial traffic."

A six seater, the Mustang has a top speed of almost 400 mph, a range of 1,150 n.m. and a service ceiling of 41,000 feet.

Howell says: "When Cessna announced the Citation Mustang, I saw it as the perfect opportunity for me to move up from my turboprop aircraft to a jet. One of the most important factors was the customer support and service capabilities that I knew I could expect in Europe."

Howell built up and sold a successful office interiors outfitting business. Cessna reports: "She has been a passionately devoted pilot

of single engine aircraft for several years and has just undertaken

her jet rating course in the United States." Howell flew her Mustang back over the Atlantic with a Cessna pilot.

"This is a significant day for Cessna," says Trevor Esling, vp, inter-national sales. "The Mustang is ideally suited to the European market-place and one third of our current order book is from European customers."

The Citation Mustang gained FAA type certification on 8 September 2006 and EASA certifi-cation on 21 May 2007.

Cessna has booked more than 350 Mustang orders and has delivered 24. Esling says: "We are on track to deliver 44 aircraft in 2007 and there are plans to ramp up production to 150 Mustangs a year by 2009."
