Ambitious Jet Options steps up to refurbished Citation V
Birmingham-based operator Jet Options has taken delivery of its second aircraft, a recently refurbished Citation V. "The acquisition marks the continual incremental progression of ambitious plans set out by the owners," says head of development Pete Lynch Williams.

Birmingham-based operator Jet Options has taken delivery of its second aircraft, a recently refurbished Citation V. "The acquisition marks the continual incremental progression of ambitious plans set out by the owners," says head of development Pete Lynch Williams.

The owners, Mark Walters, Colin Campbell and Ruadhan Neeson, are committed to building a light jet charter and management operation with strong presences in central England and the Irish Republic.

Just over two years ago the trio acquired Air Taxis, a BHX-based Seneca operation and added a Citation II to develop business. Dublin-based businessman Mark Walters says: "We thought long and hard about the strategy we would adopt regarding aircraft acquisition. The Citation V is a proven success in the kind of flight profile we have adopted and sits well with our C550 which continues to perform to exacting standards."

Company md Colin Campbell, who is a former RAF officer, says: "Our Citation II has been significantly upgraded to permit greater range and operational capacity as a direct response to the needs of clients who are travelling further afield and in greater numbers than was previously the case.

"We now have four full-time flight crews as well as a back-up staff in operations, most of whom are also pilots, so the answers are always to hand for most enquiries. Brokers seem to appreciate this," adds Campbell, who heads up day-to-day operations.

Lynch Williams, former commercial manager with charter broker Hunt & Palmer, says: "We tailor our pricing and general operating policy to provide brokers with what they want, when they want it and at the right price."

He adds: "We are constantly looking at new ways to expand prudently. Having now dropped the Seneca profile from our business our thoughts are turning to aircraft management. Potentially this would include the new generation of super light jets. We certainly wouldn't discount adding to the fleet independent of organic growth, perhaps with a Bravo or Excel, or possibly both, in the coming months. If we have any problem currently it is that we don't have the capacity to meet all the business knocking on our door and this is something we are addressing."

Jet Options has moved to larger premises at the airport.
