Berlin is considering plans put forward by American businessman Frank Langhammer to turn Tempelhof into a private healthcare clinic. A City spokeswoman confirms that "under this scenario, private jets would be allowed to use the airport."
Tempelhof is set to remain open until 2008 under a compromise agreement proposed by Berlin's administrative court of appeals after arguments that the airport should remain open to commercial aviation until adequate transport links to the new Schoenefeld airport are built.
