Paris-based Unijet is expanding its fleet of aircraft from six to nine adding long haul capacity, as it celebrates a big increase in business from U.K. clients.

Two CJ3s will start service in the Le Bourget fleet early in 2007, with a Falcon 7X following in the spring of 2008.

Andy Lee, U.K. sales director, says: "Unijet places great emphasis on keeping its fleet modern. The aircraft are being purchased new and represent a significant investment."

Unijet, established in 1967, currently charters an 800XP, two CJ2s, a Falcon 50 and a Falcon 900EX. It reopened its U.K. sales office in October 2005 to meet growing charter demand.

Lee says: "We celebrated our first year's trading with a significant increase in charter revenue from U.K.-based clients. Unijet UK doubled the projected charter revenue, thanks largely to a marketing campaign launched last year and a general increase in demand.

"We are fortunate in the fact that Unijet has a very young and varied fleet so we can cater for both ends of the market."

He adds: "The new aircraft will help us attract even more business and we are looking forward to using the 7X to provide non-stop flights from European destinations to Los Angeles and the Far East and Middle East."

Unijet's new and existing aircraft are approved for London City operations. "It is an important airport for us because Heathrow and Gatwick can be impossible," says Lee. "Our business charter customers also like Luton and Farnborough although Farnborough can be over-busy, at least from our point of view, at weekends."

Unijet's terminal facility at Le Bourget has undergone a major refurbishment programme in recent months, with the vip lounge receiving particular attention.

"Our terminal is exclusively for Unijet passengers, thus offering total privacy at all times and avoiding overcrowding which one sometimes witnesses at the other terminals," says Lee.
