FAL Aviation UK, based at London Ashford Airport (Lydd) in Kent, is turning to local schools and colleges in the search for its latest recruits. The company, which provides handling services for corporate, business and private aviation clients, is giving students across the region the opportunity to join the rapidly growing team at FAL Aviation as a trainee ground support agent. FAL Aviation's marketing manager, Tim Gill, said: 'We've asked a number of schools to place a recruitment advert on their notice boards to give local youngsters who are keen to pursue a career within the aviation industry the chance to be the first to apply for the post. "Since its launch last summer, FAL Aviation has been keen to recruit from communities in and around Lydd. So far we have created 10 jobs, most of which have gone to local residents who have undergone intensive training covering everything from first class service to security. "This new post will give another local youngster the chance to work with a team of highly-motivated and skilled professionals, some of whom have 25 years' aviation experience, and the chance to progress and undertake further vocational training as the company expands." The successful candidate will ideally have A-levels, a good knowledge of computers and a keen interest in aviation. The new recruit will be trained to operate specialist equipment to the highest standards. They will assist the ground handling services team, offering operational support to aircraft arriving and departing through FAL Aviation, and ensuring the safe and prompt turnaround of aircraft. Tim Gill adds: "This is an exciting time to be joining FAL Aviation. With continuing investment in the airport, including a new instrument landing system, we're providing services for more and more corporate and private jet owners." FAL Aviation provides aircraft handling services such as fuel and repositioning, plus sanitary needs and an array of personal services, from chauffeur-driven vehicles, limousines, helicopter charter and luxury sky catering to floral arrangements, accommodation, and conference facilities for corporate, business and private aviation clients who own or charter jets. The company also offers a designated rest area, showers, transport, accommodation arrangements and flight planning area for crews.
