Online aircraft marketing and database provider CharterX has opened a European office and has appointed Stanley Bugeja as managing director of the division.

The company states that it is currently processing more than 60,000 trip requests per month, some 20 per cent of which involve European airports.

Bugeja will be responsible for the firm's European sales, business development and customer support. "I am excited to be joining CharterX to help drive the continued growth of European participation and activity in the CharterX network," he commented.

"European operators should only see an upside to expanding their participation in the CharterX system. Air taxi is a competitive business, and maintaining and expanding an operator's marketing edge will result in increased business and profitability. CharterX has developed an advanced, open system designed to support the overall growth of the air charter market."

Said company president Jim Betlyon: "It has been thrilling to watch the growth in European activity in the network.
