Club328 is to add a second Dornier 328 Jet to its fleet in January - enabling it to operate from London City Airport - with the view to acquiring a third later next year.

The operator, which is based at Southampton airport, has secured the aircraft from AvCraft Aerospace administrator PLUTA.

Joining the company's 12-seat 328 turboprop, the new build 328 is fitted with long range fuel tanks, which increase the aircraft's range to 2,200nm. It is also modified to allow short field performance, enabling it to operate into airports with smaller runways, which are inaccessible to larger executive jets.

The 328's spacious cabin size makes the operator unique in the UK market, as Club328's newest Dornier also boasts 14-seats and an executive class interior.

Increasing interest in corporate charters encouraged the move, commented Club328 ceo Mike Farge, as passengers are afforded "plenty of space to work and hold meetings with the utmost privacy".

Managing director of AvCraft, Wolfgang Walter, describes the aircraft as "the best corporate aircraft we have ever built," due to up-to-date systems and a specially designed cabin layout.

Walter commented: "It is fitting that this aircraft should go to Club328, whose clients will especially enjoy travelling abroad. We are very pleased to be expanding our relationship with Club328".

Club328 will be providing its other Dornier 328 to transport buyers of luxury travel to the International Luxury Travel Market in December, a global trade event dedicated to enabling specialist luxury travel trade buyers to meet with worldwide luxury travel suppliers.

The ILTM will be held between December 5 to 8 at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France.
