Simulator reduces air time requirements for training
Specialist Aviation Services has boosted its flight training capabilities with the launch of a new mobile helicopter flight training device. The Flight Navigation Procedural Trainer, which recently achieved a Level 2 qualification, is the first of its type in the UK, the company claimed.

“Most of the flying can now be done in the simulator, rather than in the air,” said a spokesman. “For police operations, pilots require four hours of instrument flying per aircraft each year. SAS can now carry out three of the four in the simulator.”
