Aeromega Helicopters has added an EC120 to its charter fleet. The helicopter is due to arrive at the end of September and will join the company’s 12-strong fleet, which includes four Eurocopter Twin Squirrel and a Bell JetRanger.
The company operates out of Stapleford Aerodrome, Essex, and Cambridge City Airport and the majority of its business comes from local clients, with most flights operating within the UK.
The rest of the company’s business comes from ‘heli-lunches,’ trial lessons, pilot training, weddings and city tours of London and Cambridge. It also operates trips to Hindlesham and Brocket Hall, where celebrity chef Jean Christophe Novelli is chef patron at the Auberge du Lac restaurant.
Although the company has been operating since the 1970s, Aeromega Helicopters was launched in 1997.
It has recently been involved in film and photography projects, according to Aeromega’s Amanda Bere, including filming for UK television’s Channel 5.
Archaeologists have also made use of the company’s helicopters, getting aerial views of archaeological digs, Bere said.
