Charter demand prompts fleet growth
Turkey-based charter operator Menekse Havacilik has acquired a Citation 550 and plans to add a CJ2 to its charter operations in October, the company’s owner has confirmed.

Turkey-based charter operator Menekse Havacilik has acquired a Citation 550 and plans to add a CJ2 to its charter operations in October, the company’s owner has confirmed.

The CE550 joined the fleet in June and is being used for air taxi services in Turkey, Europe and the Middle East. The company chose the aircraft for its range, size and cost which, Menekse claims, suit the Turkish charter market.

Both aircraft will be based in Ankara; the CJ2 replaces a CJ1 that the firm has operated for nine years.

Most of the company’s clients come from the construction industry and own other businesses. Although the sector has been quiet recently, Menekse believes that the the demand for charter operators in Turkey is beginning to increase once again.

“Two years ago, there was an economic crisis in Turkey and businesses were struggling, but now the economy and the charter sector is showing signs of recovery.”

As well as passenger charter operations, Menekse Havacilik offers a range of services, including air ambulance, flight training and aerial photography.

The company also represents New Piper, Honeywell and Jeppesen as a Turkish sales agent.
