Norway-based ship owner/operator Radius has acquired a Beech 90 aircraft. The aircraft will be used
for Scandinavian and inter-European flights ‘relating to the firm’s shipping business,’ according to pilot
Trond Klaveness.
The company also plans to use the aeroplane commercially, operating through Sundt Air, but this will
depend on approval from the CAA, Klaveness said.
Radius also considered a Super King Air and a Falcon 200, but it decided on the Beech 90 because of its bigger payload and longer range. It also has lower acquisition and operating costs than the 200, Klaveness explained.
The company elected to purchase the aeroplane because it believes the BE90 is an effective business tool that is ideally suited to inter-European missions. Radius currently has no plans to acquire additional aircraft.
