The UK’s emergency services helicopters were called into action following the London bomb attacks on July 7. According to Police Aviation News, at least one of the Metropolitan Police’s three Eurocopter AS355N helicopters provided airborne support.
The capital’s primary EMS helicopter, the MD900, transported emergency personnel between Whitechapel and the Royal London Hospital. A Thames Valley Bo105, a Boreham-based EC135T2 and an A109 Power from Coventry were also operating in the city.
PAN reports that Royal Navy doctors were also working with HEMS crews. Said a spokesman: “There were many people who were shocked and naturally upset. The thing is, working for HEMS, you know how to deal with difficult scenes and as an organisation we look after each other.”
