Vibroair prepares Astra for operation

Vibroair has taken delivery of an Astra 1125SP aircraft. The aircraft, which was purchased in July, will begin operating in September, following an overhaul in Hanover.

Vibroair operates two Premier 1 aeroplanes but sold its King Air last year because of lack of demand. Said maintenance manager Michael Giesler: “Nobody wanted to fly in it; they wanted a jet.”

The aircraft will be based at Dusseldorf and is expected to fly to a number of destinations, including Moscow and Istanbul. Giesler reports that about 70 per cent of Vibroair’s customers are from German businesses and banks.

As the company is small, it has no plans to add to the fleet at this time but it may reconsider within the next two to three years depending on the company’s performance. Giesler believes that the charter market in Germany, as well as in Europe as a whole, is improving.
