The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) reports that the second quarter year-to-date shipments of business jets worldwide has leapt more than 36 per cent compared to last year.

First half shipments totalled 325 units, up from 238 units in 2004. Turboprop deliveries rose from 110 to 141.

“We are seeing the influence of industry innovation, a continued healthy economy and the effects of accelerated depreciation,” said Pete Bunce, president and ceo of GAMA.

“All segments of the industry are pointing up, which is generating optimism for a continuation of the industry’s recovery.”
