ARINC is pursuing European licenses for its SKYLink satellite broadband service, which is already fully operational in North America. The company plans to have coverage in nine countries by the end of the year. Gulfstream Aerospace will be ARINC’s launch customer for the SKYLink system. Two Gulfstream aircraft have been equipped with the system, which enables passengers to surf the internet, send and receive email and make phone calls at the same speed as in most offices, the company claims.

Gulfstream recently received certification for the system and now offers the BBML (Broad Band Multi Link) option on six of its models, including the G550 and G350 aircraft.
