AgustaWestland has delivered the first A109 Power helicopter to Poland’s Publicznym Zakladem Opieki Zdrowotneir Lotnicze Pogotowie Ratunkowi (LPR). According to AgustaWestland, it is the first light twin IFR helicopter registered in the country.
The aircraft is replacing one of LPR’s Mi-2 helicopters, of which it operates 19, which are to be phased out of service by 2009. In addition to a medical suite, it has been equipped with a Collins avionics suite, moving map display, EFIS and a satellite telephone.
AgustaWestland was recently awarded EASA and FAA certification for increased takeoff weight to 3,000 kg for the PW206C powered version of the helicopter.
