Bel Air has taken delivery of a Eurocopter EC120 B, which it will operate alongside its Schweizer 300 from a heliport in Holsted, Denmark.
The helicopter will perform ad hoc passenger charter flights, as well as cargo, aerial work, photography and filming flights.
“We had some changes made for night flying and added a cargo hook,” md Bjarne Lastein told EBAN. “It’s the leading helicopter nowadays with four places, as the Bell JetRanger was previously. We believe the EC120 is the big name right now.
“It’s a modern, comfortable machine that is very appealing, as clients don’t only think about their transportation needs; they also want a modern and nice looking aircraft.”
The 2001 model helicopter had only flown 160 hours when Bel Air took delivery of it in February. The company hopes that demand will exceed 400 hours per year and there is potential for the fleet to expand if the opportunity arises.
