Hahn Airlines’ Citation CJ2 has flown on average 30 hours per month since the company bought the aircraft in Dallas in February.
According to Hahn’s coo and chief pilot Daniel Rudas, the aeroplane’s combined speed and range has enabled the company to fly clients as far afield as the Ukraine, Tunisia and Spain’s Balearic Islands, also tracking this year’s Formula One race calendar with flights to Barcelona and
Monte Carlo.
The six-seater aircraft is based in Stuttgart and a typical flight profile lasts between one to three hours. “Of course, there has been a lot of demand for the CJ2,” Rudas explained. “Mostly for destinations in eastern Europe and the main business regions across Europe.”
Since Hahn Airlines bought the aeroplane, it has customised it with the company logo and IATA flag. It has also installed a passenger address system and an entertainment system, which includes portable DVD players.
Its staff were trained at FlightSafety in the US, but only the pilot is present during flights – there is no other crew onboard. Although the customer response to the aircraft has been positive, Rudas said it is likely that Hahn will upgrade to a CJ3 in 2007, but no final decision has been made.
