Arab Wings is set to become the first operator of a new Citation in Jordan. The company recently signed a purchase agreement for a Citation XLS, which will be based in Amman.
Commenting on the choice of aircraft, Ghassan Ali, general manager of Arab Wings, said: “After an evaluation of similar products, we decided the XLS was the best aircraft for the regional charter market in the Middle East. At its price, it offers the best combination of range,
speed, payload, cabin comfort and baggage capacity.
“We feel the XLS will give us a significant advantage in the local charter market when combined with our premium service and strong brand recognition for professional operation and quality of service. The central position of Amman in the Middle East also gives us considerable operational flexibility to serve all the major charter markets in the area.”
Riyadh-based Wallan Aviation – Cessna’s authorised sales representative in Saudi Arabia and the surrounding territories – played a ‘key role’ in securing the sale of the aircraft.
Said Trevor Esling, Cessna’s director of international Citation sales: “Arab Wings has a long and illustrious history of providing aircraft for charter in this market. They began their operation in 1975, many years before any other competitor. We look forward to a long-lasting and growing relationship with Arab Wings as they continue to develop their business in the area.”
