Demand for EC135 hits 400
Eurocopter has delivered its 400th EC135 light twin-engine helicopter. It was delivered to Transportes Aereos Pegaso in Mexico, its third EC135 this year.

Eurocopter has delivered its 400th EC135 light twin-engine helicopter. It was delivered to Transportes Aereos Pegaso in Mexico, its third EC135 this year.

The company has increased its annual production of the helicopter by 20 per cent to 72 units. At 7 dB below ICAO limits, Eurocopter claims the EC135 is one of the quietest helicopters in its class.

International law enforcement agencies and emergency medical service operators have been two of its biggest clients, with 40 models going to EMS providers.

In May, the company delivered an EC145 to the helicopter group of the French Sécurité Civile – its thirty-second and final helicopter. The group’s fleet has logged 23,000 flight hours since it bagn operating its first EC145 in April 2002.

Each of the 32 EC145s in the fleet have been equipped with an emergency flotation system, loudspeakers and a 270kg load-bearing hoist. Some of the aircraft are equipped with searchlights.
