Zorex Air Transport is hoping to move into a new hangar at Zaragoza International Airport, Spain. Work is set to begin on the 800 square metre facility in the coming months.
The company’s current main-tenance base was recently converted from JAR 145 to EASA Part 145.
“Our aircraft need a lot of maintenance, so we needed our own maintenance centre to improve our operations,” said accountable man-ager Santiago Zorrilla Riveiro. “We are now renting the facility but we would like to have an area for our sole use.”
Zorex is hoping to acquire a third Metro by the end of the year. The aircraft will perform charter passenger and cargo missions in Europe and Africa.
In February, the company appointed Ricardo Marco Prades as operations manager.
