Broker acquisition bears fruit for Skytime

Following the purchase of Business Air Centre last year, European Skytime has relocated the broker’s office so that both companies are operating out of Gloucestershire Airport, UK.

Kelly Welsh, European Skytime’s operations director, believes that the developments made since the acquisition have placed both companies in a positive position.

“Following the acquisition, clients and suppliers have reported a marked upturn in service levels and we are delighted to see turnover and

profit up significantly,” she said. “Business Air Centre now benefits from access to European Skytime’s fleet of aircraft, which enables it to stand apart in the highly competitive broker market place.”

Despite the links between the two companies, Welsh is keen to point out that they will continue to be aimed at different markets.

“European Skytime is aimed at the high net worth individual, offering a contract of hours with guaranteed availability, similar to fractional ownership but with greater choice and flexibility. These clients tend to require just one type of aircraft such as a Citation Excel or Falcon 2000.

“Business Air Centre is very different; it is intended to supply

the corporate, incentive and entertainment sectors – often flying large groups of people on multi-sector tours – which requires a broad variety of aircraft types.”

The plans for 2005 include a re-branding of Business Air Centre and both companies hope to gain ISO accreditation later this year.
