After much delay, the Turkish National Police has signed a contract for ten MD900N helicopters, according to Police Aviation News. MD Helicopters, Inc (MDHI) says it hopes to deliver six to eight of the aircraft before year-end and the remainder next year.
Although MDHI has been cutting back staff levels this year, to reduce costs, Henck Shaeken says it has been kept to a bare minimum. He said: “We haven’t lost a lot of workforce – mostly we’ve moved people around.”
With the Turkish aircraft built and delivered, the company will be growing again and near to reaching 40 deliveries in the year.
