Flansburg joins Surack following a 35-year rotary and defence career
Surack Enterprises has appointed Robert Flansburg, formerly director of operations at Summit Aviation and executive VP at L3Harris Technologies, as VP of aviation across Sweet Aviation and Sweet Helicopters.
Robert Flansburg brings passion aplenty.

Surack Enterprises has hired Robert Flansburg as vice president of aviation. He will be responsible for developing strategy, ensuring FAA compliance, championing safety initiatives and managing budgets across all Surack Enterprises aviation businesses, including Sweet Aviation and Sweet Helicopters.

Flansburg brings executive-level experience from previous positions at L3Harris, Boeing, Sikorsky and Lockheed Martin, which will equip Surack to better serve aviation customers in the Midwest and beyond. Through Sweet Aviation and Sweet Helicopters, Surack Enterprises provides fixed-wing and helicopter flight schools, charter services, maintenance services and FBO operations across five Indiana locations.

As a certified private pilot and avid explorer, Flansburg brings an infectious passion for flight to his new position.

“I am thrilled to join the Surack Enterprises aviation team,” he says. “Sweet Aviation and Sweet Helicopters have introduced incredible opportunities for both travellers and aspiring pilots across the region. I look forward to further developing northeast Indiana's vibrant and thriving aviation scene.”

Surack Enterprises founder and CEO Chuck Surack concludes: “Robert Flansburg is a tremendous addition to the Surack Enterprises leadership team. He brings a fresh, strategic perspective to our operations while displaying a strict adherence to detail and prioritisation of safety.”

Flansburg's most recent executive role before joining Surack Enterprises was at Summit Aviation, a Delaware-based FAA-certified repair station and Greenwich Aerogroup company, where he served as director of operations.
