Eclipse Air Charter celebrates tenth anniversary amid market growth
Global demand for private jet charter continues to climb, with the sector forecast to approach US$50 billion by 2034.
The Eclipse Air Charter team marked the anniversary in Ibiza.

Toronto-based charter brokerage Eclipse Air Charter has marked its tenth anniversary as the global jet charter market enters a fresh period of growth, with the sector projected to approach US$50 billion by 2034.

Fortune Business Insights values the global jet charter market at US$27.88 billion in 2026, rising to US$48.19 billion by 2034 at an annualised growth rate of 7.1 per cent. The Canadian business jet market was worth around US$4.39 billion in 2024 and is expected to reach US$7.05 billion by 2029, a compound annual growth rate of 6.1 per cent, according to MarketsandMarkets.

Alongside that expansion, the sector faces a widening skills gap. CAE's 2025 Aviation Talent Forecast estimates business aviation will need 102,000 additional professionals worldwide by 2034, including 33,000 pilots and 69,000 aircraft maintenance technicians.

Eclipse was founded in 2016 by Yasmin Alam and has arranged more than 2,900 flights from its Toronto base. The brokerage plans to continue expanding internationally while keeping its Canadian roots.

Yasmin Alam, founder and managing director, says: “Ten years ago, private aviation was viewed as a luxury service for a select few. Since then, the industry has transformed.”

Alam points to the pandemic as a turning point, introducing a generation of travellers seeking flexibility, time efficiency and privacy. She adds: “They want access when they need it, the flexibility to choose the right aircraft for each trip and a service that fits around their lives and businesses.”

That on-demand model matches the aircraft to the trip rather than tying the traveller to one jet or programme, an approach Eclipse says is resonating with younger clients entering the market alongside its established customer base. As it enters its second decade, Eclipse plans to grow its Canadian operations while expanding its international presence.
