Global Turbine Asia and Safran Helicopter Engines Asia have signed a memorandum of understanding, establishing a framework to expand their collaboration beyond Malaysia into Brunei Darussalam.
GTA has served as a Certified Maintenance Centre for Safran Helicopter Engines in Malaysia for more than 15 years, operating from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport and providing engine maintenance, repair and support services. The MoU sets out a framework for the two companies to progress qualification, approval and contractual processes required to support the proposed expansion of GTA's authorised distribution and customer support activities into Brunei Darussalam. Any future activities remain subject to the fulfilment of agreed conditions and execution of definitive agreements.
Dato' Nonee Ashirin Dato Mohd Radzi, executive chairman of Global Turbine Asia Sdn. Bhd., says: “For more than 15 years, we have built a strong and trusted partnership with Safran Helicopter Engines Asia in Malaysia. Today, we are proud to take the next step by expanding our collaboration beyond our home market.”
The agreement builds on GTA's role as an industrial partner to Safran Helicopter Engines Asia in Malaysia and reflects plans to extend maintenance, repair and overhaul support to Brunei Darussalam as part of a wider Southeast Asian network. Safran Helicopter Engines Asia is the regional hub of Safran Helicopter Engines, based in Singapore. The company supports more than 200 operators and over 1,100 helicopter engines across 19 countries, including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, India, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
