Schuster ascends at Gama to deputy MD role
Philipp Schuster brings a combination of operational and commercial expertise. As an experienced training captain with multiple type ratings, he offers technical understanding alongside a strong leadership capability.
Schuster has made a notable impression since joining Gama one year ago.

Gama Aviation has promoted Philipp Schuster to deputy MD, aircraft management and charter.

Since joining the business just over a year ago, Schuster has played a central role in strengthening and stabilising Gama Aviation's European operations. Tasked with integrating and optimising a complex structure spanning multiple AOCs across Austria and Malta, he has successfully led the transition to a more efficient and sustainable operating model. This work has established a stable platform from which the division is now positioned to grow.

Schuster brings a combination of operational and commercial expertise to the role. As an experienced training captain with multiple type ratings, he offers deep technical understanding alongside a strong leadership capability and clear commercial focus. Over the past year, he has taken on increasing responsibility for the day-to-day performance of the aircraft management and charter division, working closely with teams across the business to enhance operational delivery and client service.

In his new position, he will assume full responsibility for the daily leadership of the aircraft management and charter business. His focus will be on expanding the managed fleet, strengthening core charter capability and continuing to deliver a tailored, boutique approach for clients operating across multiple jurisdictions. This includes supporting the development of a more harmonised regulatory framework, designed to provide flexibility and consistency for aircraft owners and operators.

Further strategic developments are also underway, including the anticipated addition of a San Marino AOC, which is expected to enhance the division's ability to support clients operating in key international markets. Together, these initiatives will underpin the next phase of growth for the business.

Graham Williamson, managing director, aircraft management and charter, comments: “Since joining Gama Aviation, Philipp has demonstrated a strong ability to bring structure and momentum to a complex part of our business. He has quickly become a trusted leader within the team, and this promotion reflects both his impact to date and the important role he will continue to play as we grow. We are confident in his ability to lead the division forward.”

Schuster adds: “It has been a rewarding first year with Gama Aviation, working alongside a highly experienced and committed team. Together, we have built a strong operational foundation, and I look forward to continuing that progress, strengthening our capabilities, growing the managed fleet and delivering the level of service our clients expect.”

This appointment reflects Gama Aviation's continued focus on investing in leadership, strengthening its operational platforms and delivering long-term, sustainable growth across its aircraft management and charter division.
