Leonardo expands CHC Helicopter support and training framework
Two five-year agreements will provide multiple services across AW139 and AW189 fleets operating in multiple global regions.
The combined teams are aligning global support, training and engineering under a single coordinated framework.

Leonardo and CHC Helicopter have strengthened their long-standing relationship by signing two multiyear global framework agreements covering AW139 fleet support and AW139 and AW189 training services.

A five-year support agreement will see Leonardo deliver logistics and technical support to Heli-One, CHC Helicopter’s MRO business, alongside spare parts provision for the AW139 fleet across all geographies, supported by logistics centres in Brazil and Australia. CHC Helicopter operates 42 Leonardo aircraft across AW139 and AW189 platforms.

The agreement introduces customised service plans to refine an existing power-by-the-hour model while supporting fleet flexibility, including the introduction of additional helicopters and redeployment across regions. Heli-One will also gain access to Leonardo’s engineering support capabilities.

A second five-year agreement provides access to Leonardo’s training academies and global simulator network, supporting AW139 and AW189 crew training requirements with several thousand flight hours anticipated.

The agreements are intended to support operational performance and fleet efficiency while aligning with safety and sustainability objectives as both aircraft types continue to expand their global roles.
