Astronautics Corporation of America, headquartered in Wisconsin, is collaborating with Airbus Helicopters to deliver the V2.1 upgrade to its AeroSync Max connectivity system, known to Airbus as its wireless Airborne Communication System. The upgrade introduces data collection capabilities to the H225 platform, enhances inflight connectivity functionality and supports evolving cybersecurity requirements across the fleet of Helionix avionics-equipped Airbus Helicopters.
The V2.1 upgrade is available now for EASA-certified H145 and H145M helicopters, with certification for the H160 expected by the end of 2026 and the H225 in 2027.
Matthew Frei, director of connected aircraft solutions at Astronautics, says: “As connectivity expectations continue to grow, Airbus operators need solutions that are secure, scalable and seamlessly integrated. The AeroSync Max V2.1 upgrade builds on our proven architecture to deliver expanded data capabilities, inflight connectivity functionality and ongoing cybersecurity support, helping ensure these platforms are prepared for the next generation of connected operations.”
Designed for integration within the Helionix avionics architecture, AeroSync Max enables passengers to access 4G inflight cellular connectivity and allows Ethernet wi-fi gateway functionality for streaming camera video to tablets and managing medical and mission cabin devices, including secure patient data transmission. The system also supports uploading Helionix and flight management system databases, while continuous cybersecurity updates maintain compliance with EASA requirements.
Together, these enhancements enable seamless data collection, improve mission coordination and support increasingly connected operational environments.
