US FBO chain Sheltair Aviation has completed its newest narrow-body MRO aircraft hangar and office complex at Tampa International Airport in Florida.
First outlined in 2024 as part of the company’s expansion plans at TPA, the facility delivers 50,880 sq ft of hangar space, 8,344 sq ft of office and shop space and a 50,000 sq ft apron to support aircraft manoeuvring, staging and fuelling.
Designed to accommodate large-cabin and narrow-body aircraft including up to three Boeing Business Jets, the MRO hangar features a specialised tail door system engineered for larger airframes. The facility is equipped with a fire suppression system supporting NFPA codes for full MRO operations.
Lisa Holland, president and chief executive officer of Sheltair Aviation, says: “The new MRO hangar represents the future of business aviation at Tampa International Airport. The completion of this new facility is the culmination of years of thoughtful planning, investment and collaboration, and we are proud to welcome our tenants, partners and guests into this exceptional new space.”
With the opening of Hangar 9, Sheltair now owns and operates nine hangars at TPA. The company’s previous major expansion at the airport was completed in 2023 with a four-hangar addition adjacent to its main complex on the south side of the crosswind runway.
