Vertical advances Singapore EMS plans with HTX backing
The programme will test the use of the Valo aircraft for emergency medical response in remote island operations.

Vertical Aerospace has secured a place in the Dimension X Cohort 7 programme and received a proof-of-concept grant from Hatch, the innovation arm of Singapore’s Home Team Science and Technology Agency.

The programme will see Vertical develop and validate an emergency medical services use case for its Valo eVTOL aircraft, exploring how electric and hybrid-electric vertical flight can supplement existing emergency response systems in island and coastal regions.

Working with HTX, Hatch and operational partners, the project will define a detailed EMS concept of operations aligned with regulatory and mission requirements. It will evaluate medical cabin configurations for patient transport and in-flight care and culminate in a flight demonstration to assess feasibility, safety and response performance.

Vertical was selected through a competitive process recognising its safety-focused design approach, mission flexibility and clear certification pathway. The initiative supports Singapore’s national advanced air mobility strategy, backed by the Singapore Economic Development Board and the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore.
