MoDoG will operate an ACH160 and ACH175 as part of a wider helicopter acquisition by Ghana’s Ministry of Defence, which also includes two H175Ms for utility roles.
The two ACH aircraft will be used for high-level VIP transport, supporting official and executive movement across the country and wider region. The H175Ms are set to perform search and rescue, disaster relief and multi-role military missions, while MoDoG’s responsibility will be focused on delivering safe, efficient and discreet corporate flights.
Arnaud Montalvo, head of Airbus Helicopters Africa and Middle East, says: “This key deal makes Ghana a leading customer in West Africa for our premium corporate helicopters, the ACH160 and ACH175.”
The ACH175 is based on the proven super-medium H175 platform and offers long range, strong payload and smooth ride qualities. The newer ACH160 introduces 68 patented Airbus technologies, a larger cabin and 35% more window area than its peers, making it one of the brightest and most advanced helicopters in its class.
