Wildcat adopts Alpine utility basket for Bell 412
Wildcat Helicopters has become the launch operator for Alpine Aerotech’s Bell 412 utility basket, citing proven durability, enhanced safety and increased capacity as key benefits for demanding heli-ski operations.
The design has proved itself over a number of years.

Alpine Aerotech's utility basket kit has been approved for installation on the Bell 412, giving operators a reliable solution for external storage. Previously approved for the Bell 205 and 212, this latest approval reflects the Canadian helicopter maintenance and modifications specialist's continued effort to offer mission-ready equipment that aligns with the needs of utility and multi-role operators.

Known for its robust construction and straightforward installation, the utility basket provides operators with an efficient way to carry tools, equipment and gear without compromising cabin space. The design draws on Aerotech's long history of developing practical, mission-ready equipment for rotorcraft performing in some of the world's most challenging environments.

“Adding 412 applicability to our utility basket is a natural step that reflects both customer demand and our ongoing commitment to supporting the Bell medium platform,” says Taylor Wilson, manufacturing manager at Alpine Aerotech. “The design has proven itself since 2008 in rugged, real-world environments, and we're proud to bring 412 operators a dependable alternative for external storage.”

Wildcat Helicopters, based in West Kelowna, British Columbia, served as the launch customer for the first Bell 412 utility basket. “Our experience operating the Alpine Aerotech utility basket on our fleet of Bell 212 helicopters has proven without a doubt that this basket represents the highest quality and best value utility basket available in the marketplace,” remarks Mike Westie, business development and operations manager at Wildcat Helicopters. “The robust design and enhanced safety features, combined with the increased usable capacity, made it the clear choice for our operations. This will be a significant upgrade to our Bell 412 heli skiing operations this season.”
