Incoming Spectrum president brings great expertise
Before joining Spectrum Aeromed, Shannon Schell served as president/CEO of REVA, one of the largest fixed-wing air ambulance companies in the Americas. Under his leadership, REVA achieved transformative growth.
Schell has a knack for expanding businesses.

Spectrum Aeromed, a US customised air medical interiors and equipment provider, has appointed Shannon Schell as its new president. Schell brings more than 30 years of leadership experience in aviation, healthcare and logistics, including extensive expertise in the air ambulance industry.

Before joining Spectrum Aeromed, Schell served as president and CEO of REVA, one of the largest fixed-wing air ambulance companies in the Americas. Under Schell's leadership, REVA experienced transformative growth, expanding its international reach, improving operational performance and driving significant increases in both revenue and profitability. Schell's career also includes senior leadership roles with VTX1 Companies, UniTek Global Services and UPS, where he developed a proven track record of operational excellence, organisational transformation and business expansion.

“I am honoured to join Spectrum Aeromed and continue building on its legacy of innovation and excellence in the air medical industry,” says Schell. “Spectrum's mission to support lifesaving operations worldwide resonates deeply with my professional journey and personal passion for advancing patient care through aviation.”

Outgoing president Chase McCown, who has led Spectrum Aeromed since 2022, has transitioned to a new role as managing director of Heartland Partners, Spectrum Aeromed's ownership group. In his new capacity, he will lead strategic portfolio growth and oversee the daily operations across Heartland's diverse portfolio of companies while continuing to serve on Spectrum Aeromed's board of directors.

“Shannon's combination of air medical industry knowledge, operational leadership and strategic vision makes him the ideal leader for Spectrum Aeromed's next phase of growth,” says McCown. “I look forward to continuing to support the company's success through my new role with Heartland Partners and as a board member.”
