Air Methods is renewing its partnership with Temple Health for Temple MedFlight, Temple Health's air medical programme based at St. Mary Medical Center in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

Established nearly 20 years ago, Temple MedFlight provides 24/7 critical-care transport, inter-hospital transfers and organ retrieval services throughout Eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, New York, Maryland and the DC Metro areas. The programme plays a vital role in ensuring patients have rapid access to specialised care when time and distance are critical factors.

“Temple MedFlight is a vital lifeline for communities across the region,” says Tony Raymond, senior vice president of major accounts at Air Methods. “Together, we ensure patients receive the highest level of care and the fastest access to the resources they need, when every second counts.”

This collaboration brings together aviation excellence and clinical expertise to deliver seamless critical care transport across multiple states.

“Our partnership with Air Methods plays a crucial role in ensuring we can safely and efficiently transport critically ill and injured patients across our multi-state service area,” notes Abhi Rastogi, MBA, MIS, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Temple Health and president and CEO of Temple University Hospital. “Its aviation expertise allows our clinical teams to focus on what they do best, delivering exceptional, lifesaving care to patients in their greatest moment of need.”

Temple MedFlight operates an Airbus H135 aircraft equipped with advanced aviation and medical technology, including weather radar, night vision goggles, terrain awareness systems and satellite tracking. The aircraft's medical interior enables complex in-flight care, such as invasive line management, pacing, ventilatory support, advanced airway procedures, high flow nasal cannula therapy and advanced cardiac support devices , providing ICU-level care in the air.

“Renewing this partnership reinforces our shared dedication to clinical excellence, patient safety and community service,” Raymond goes on. “We look forward to continuing to work side by side with Temple Health to serve patients and families across the region.”
