Ex-Change Parts reaches full sustainability in helicopter recycling
The company achieves complete reuse and recycling of its helicopter materials, strengthening its position as a sustainability leader in global rotary wing support.
Rikard Jansson, CEO at Ex-Change Parts with Göran Enström, head of business development.

Ex-Change Parts AB has announced that it now achieves 100% sustainability in helicopter recycling by maximising re-use and material recovery across each project. The Stockholm team prioritises extraction of every serviceable aviation part then passes remaining structures to specialist recyclers that separate alloys to base metals and grind fiberglass insulation for responsible re-entry to raw supply chains.

Rikard Jansson, CEO of Ex-Change Parts, says: “We utilise a differential fragmentation process, which allows for precise material separation. Helicopter airframes, which contain significant amounts of aluminium and other valuable metals, are processed in a way that optimises their recovery and reintroduction into the supply chain.”

A recent disassembly of five AS332 Super Pumas recovers 60% by weight for direct re-use and MRO support, extending economic life and reducing downtime for other aircraft. The project plan widens availability of key items, shortens lead times and reduces operating costs and maintenance time.

Göran Enström, head of business development, says: “Ex-Change Parts is not just embracing sustainability; but leading the charge for a more eco-conscious helicopter industry. Our comprehensive sustainability project plan is designed to make a noticeable improvement to the helicopter supply chain market. Through innovation, collaboration and responsible practices, we aim to set new standards that prioritise both environmental well-being and operational excellence.”
