Ford steps into chief ops officer role at Robinson
The appointment of Glenn W.E. Ford as chief operations officer strengthens Robinson Helicopter’s focus on manufacturing efficiency, logistics and development of new helicopter lines.
Ford will oversee new production lines for the R88 helicopter and unmanned models developed by Ascent AeroSystems.

Robinson Helicopter Company has appointed Glenn W.E. Ford as chief operations officer as part of its strategy to enhance manufacturing and operational performance. Ford will oversee efficiency improvements across production and logistics while supporting the development of new lines for the R88 helicopter and the Spirit, Spartan and Helius coaxial unmanned aircraft from its Ascent AeroSystems subsidiary.

“Glenn’s decades of operational know-how will be instrumental in streamlining our parts and aircraft manufacturing processes and driving efficiencies across our logistics and overhaul business,” says David Smith, president and CEO of Robinson Helicopter Company. “Ultimately, this isn’t just about internal improvements; Glenn’s expertise is directly connected to our customers. By implementing smarter production and maintenance, repair and operations strategies, we will significantly increase our speed to market and responsiveness. This will ensure that our customers receive the quality aircraft and parts they depend on, faster than ever before.”

Ford brings close to 40 years of aerospace experience in manufacturing operations, engineering design and supply chain logistics. Before joining Robinson Helicopter, he held senior roles at Sikorsky, Pratt & Whitney and Icon Aircraft.

“Few organisations in aerospace possess such an enduring commitment to craftsmanship, performance and integrity,” says Ford. “My intention is to strengthen the company’s production systems, empower our teams and build upon RHC’s proud tradition of quality, precision and innovation.”
