Innovative Advantage celebrates 20 years of upgrades
The company marked two decades in business aviation at NBAA 2025 as it introduced Dolby Atmos decoding and DirecTV gateway upgrades to its AVDS system.

Innovative Advantage, a provider of cabin backbone systems for business aviation and part of Heads Up Technologies Group, celebrated its 20th anniversary at the 2025 NBAA convention in Las Vegas.

As part of its continued support for OEMs and completion centres, the company enhanced its AVDS distribution system with two new features: Dolby Atmos immersive decoding and passthrough capability, and an Airmont gateway card for DirecTV decoding. Together they set a new benchmark for cabin entertainment performance.

The Dolby Atmos decoder card expands AVDS’s existing passthrough function by enabling onboard decoding, delivering a fully immersive sound experience through the aircraft’s distribution backbone. The new Airmont gateway card optimises DirecTV decoding and bandwidth management for flawless high-definition playback.

“These new cards represent the next evolution of our AVDS platform, expanding our support for audio/video content,” says Nestor Fenoy, director of systems engineering at Innovative Advantage. “For 20 years, we've been proud to serve as the cabin backbone of business aviation, providing a modular, reliable and future-proof AVDS solution.”

At NBAA-BACE 2025, attendees can experience a Dolby Atmos demonstration at the Heads Up Technologies Group booth, featuring integrated AVDS, Alto Aviation and Heads Up cabin systems.
