Tropic Air has taken delivery of three factory-new Cessna Grand Caravan EX aircraft, continuing its investment in modernisation and growth. These additions are part of a larger renewal plan that began last year and will conclude later this year with the arrival of a fifth aircraft.
Founded in 1979, Tropic Air provides over 200 daily flights across Belize, Honduras and Mexico, serving both passenger and cargo operations. The airline says its fleet renewal reflects its commitment to enhancing safety, comfort and reliability for customers while strengthening the country’s aviation industry.
“The introduction of these aircraft reflects our continued commitment to providing a premium passenger experience and reliable service to our customers,” says Tropic Air CEO Maximillian Greif. “We believe we have a responsibility to advance and support the growth of Belize. This investment strengthens not only our airline, but also the aviation industry and tourism, and helps to create new opportunities for our nation.”
Cessna parent company Textron Aviation says the Grand Caravan EX is valued for its adaptability. “Whether supporting business travel, tourism or cargo operations, the Cessna Grand Caravan EX is equipped to access diverse terrain and remote runways around the globe,” says Lannie O’Bannion, senior vice president, sales and marketing.
This year also marks the 40th anniversary of the Caravan’s first flight. More than 3,100 Caravan and Grand Caravan aircraft have been delivered worldwide, accumulating more than 25 million flight hours across 100 countries.
