Hixson fits the bill for Pro Star avionics director role
Andrew Hixson was hired at Pro Star Aviation in 2018, working as a structural technician. In 2021, he was called back to complete a one-year mobilisation as an unmanned aircraft systems air vehicle operator.
Hixson has been involved in aviation since the age of 18.

US Part 145 repair station Pro Star Aviation has appointed Andrew Hixson as director of avionics and installations at its Manchester, New Hampshire location. Hixson will be responsible for leading the team in charge of integrating, maintaining and troubleshooting aircraft electronic systems.

His career in aviation began at the age of 18, when he enlisted in the United States Navy as an aviation structural mechanic. He was deployed twice on the USS Harry S. Truman, an aircraft carrier based out of Norfolk, Virginia. Aboard the Truman, he gained valuable experience working on several military aircraft, including F/A-18 Super Hornets, EA-6B Prowlers, E-2 Hawkeyes, C-2 Greyhounds and SH-60 Seahawks. After active duty, Andrew transferred to the US Navy Reserves, where he continued his service working on C-130 Greyhounds.

Hixson was hired at Pro Star Aviation in 2018, working as a structural technician. In 2021, he was called back to active duty to complete a one-year mobilisation as an unmanned aircraft systems air vehicle operator. The following year, Andrew returned to the company and quickly became a lead technician and inspector. With his experience and tenure at Pro Star Aviation, along with his background as a chief petty officer in the US Navy, he is a natural fit to lead Pro Star's avionics department.

Headquartered at the Manchester-Boston Regional airport in New Hampshire with additional locations in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Portland, Maine, Pro Star Aviation is a recognised industry leader in the maintenance and upgrade of business and government aircraft. The company is an authorised service centre for Dassault Falcon, Embraer and Pilatus, and specialises in avionics upgrades, in-flight connectivity solutions, special mission aircraft modifications and aircraft sales. Pro Star is part of the Laughlin Family aviation group of companies, which was founded in 1948 and has additional operations in FBO, airline services and aircraft de-icing.
