United States Aviation Co (USAVCo) has cut the red ribbon on its second 48,000 sq ft hangar expansion in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
“I never imagined we would be adding an additional hangar of this size to support more local and transient business aviation for Oklahoma,” says Roger Hardesty, founder and president of USAVCo. “It shows how well Oklahoma’s economic position is in, and we are proud to help support our community with this expansion.”
This investment into the general aviation community in Oklahoma has been a few years in the making. “US Aviation has been a cornerstone of the airport and the aviation industry for nearly four decades, and we’re proud to support its continued growth at Tulsa International airport,” states Daniel Regan, director of real estate and business development at Tulsa Airports Improvement Trust. “Its $6.8 million investment reinforces Tulsa’s reputation as a hub for aviation, and we are excited for this next step for its team.” Alexis Higgins, CEO of Tulsa Airports Improvement Trust, along with Regan, have been committed to helping secure the necessary permits through the City of Tulsa and FEMA to begin this development project.
Increased hangar space means increased ramp space to help serve USAVCo's largest demographic, transient business jet aircraft. Strategically positioned at the North end of runway 18L, this expedites the general aviation business cross-country fuel stop operations. As KTUL’s preferred Corporate Aircraft Association (CAA) FBO, pilots from around the world love stopping into this 24/7 full-service FBO, fuelled by Titan Aviation Fuels. An additional investment into new ground service equipment (GSE) will enable USAVCo to support ad hoc air cargo operations and non-scheduled airline charter flights more safely and efficiently.
“The Oklahoma Airport System has experienced significant investment in improvements and infrastructure, which has encouraged companies like US Aviation to grow their presence at Tulsa International Airport. This new hangar will demonstrate to businesses throughout the state that Oklahomans are prepared and equipped to meet the demands of business and commercial aviation,” comments Grayson Ardies, executive director of the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics.
United States Aviation was founded in 1987 by Hardesty. Today the company supports four pillars with corporate aircraft management, fixed base operations, global charter operations and Black Hawk heavy lift services.
