Trans Aero aligns with Fundamental to expand mission-critical ops
The company entered a partnership to expand its helicopter-based fire, utility and medevac operations across municipal and public sectors.
Trans Aero has become the second company to join Fundamental’s helicopter investment strategy, which began with HeloAir in January 2025.

Trans Aero has joined forces with Fundamental Advisors to support the long-term expansion of its helicopter-based fire suppression, utility and medevac operations across the United States.

The agreement includes Trans Aero’s 11-strong fleet, which comprises two Blackhawks, two Bell 205 A-1s and seven Airbus AS350-B3 A-Stars. These aircraft serve clients in municipal, government and hospital sectors.

“We are thrilled to be joining forces with the team at Fundamental, who share our commitment to providing critical aviation services and enhancing public safety for municipalities and communities across the U.S.,” says Kevin Shields, president of Trans Aero. “We are proud of our accomplishments over the last several decades and are incredibly fortunate to have found a partner in Fundamental that not only appreciates our values, but also provides the expertise, scale and resources to further expand our operations. We look forward to continuing to serve our valued customers while also growing our operations for years to come alongside our new partners.”

Fundamental’s acquisition of Trans Aero follows its January 2025 purchase of HeloAir, which marked the launch of its helicopter investment strategy aimed at building a platform for public safety, infrastructure inspection and utility services across the US.
