Private jet charter operator Toyo Aviation is the first to officially receive approval from the Romanian civil aviation authority, Autoritatea Aeronautică Civilă Română (RCAA), on the use of paperless electronic technical logbooks (eTLB) developed by TrustFlight. Toyo will deploy TrustFlight’s Tech Log, marking an important milestone in the operator’s digital transformation journey.
Based in Bucharest, Romania, Toyo Aviation operates a modern fleet of six aircraft that includes the Cessna M2 and CJ4, Challenger 300, and Embraer Legacy 600 and 650. With nearly two decades of experience in the business aviation industry, Toyo has established itself as a trusted provider of luxury air travel services. The company takes a proactive operational approach by leveraging industry-leading technology to maintain the highest standards of safety and compliance.
“At Toyo Aviation, safety and continuous improvement are at the core of everything we do. The successful implementation of TrustFlight’s Electronic Tech Log represents a significant step forward in our digital transformation journey. By adopting innovative solutions that enhance data accuracy, operational transparency and real-time oversight, we reinforce our commitment to regulatory excellence and the highest standards of safety,” says Gheorghe Oprea, compliance monitoring and safety manager at Toyo Aviation. “TrustFlight’s implementation team worked hand in hand with us and the Romanian regulatory authority to gain approval, and we couldn’t be more thankful for the guidance and support they showed along the way.”
TrustFlight’s Tech Log streamlines maintenance workflows by intelligently validating errors, significantly reducing manual data entry and processing time. The system enables faster turnaround times through real-time communication between flight crews and maintenance teams, allowing ground personnel to receive and acknowledge errors immediately, improving operator safety and efficiency while minimising aircraft downtime.
With the RCAA’s approval of Tech Log, Toyo Aviation now utilises both Centrik 5 SMS/QMS and Tech Log to harmonise processes between flight operations and maintenance teams. This fully digital overview improves safety outcomes across operations and enhances safety and quality teams’ ability to triage risks.
“As a premium charter operator committed to operational excellence, Toyo Aviation exemplifies the forward-thinking approach that drives our industry forward,” states Karl Steeves, CEO of TrustFlight. “We are proud to support it in gaining RCAA approval of Tech Log, and we’re looking forward to partnering with it on its digital transformation journey.”
