Aska has shifted its operations to Eagle Field in Fresno County following its acquisition of the private 350-acre airfield. Formerly a World War II pilot training base, the site features a 2,300 ft runway, helipad and over 70,000 square feet of hangars and support buildings. Its location offers proximity to key Californian cities and is a 35–40 minute flight from Silicon Valley.
In May 2025, the FAA renewed the Special Airworthiness Certificate for the A5 prototype (N901NF), allowing further experimental flight testing. It also issued a Certificate of Waiver or Authorisation (COA) designating Eagle Field as an approved test site with expanded flight test area. These approvals enable Aska to validate the A5’s vertical flight performance and manoeuvrability.
“Aska’s mission to transform air mobility took a major step forward with the acquisition of Eagle Field,” says co-founder and CEO Guy Kaplinsky. “This move allows us to accelerate development and testing in a location rich with aviation history.” Co-founder Maki Kaplinsky adds: “It offers the infrastructure, flexibility and space needed to support co-founder and growth, from advanced flight testing to future production.”
