PlaneSense, a US fractional aircraft ownership operator, is working with MINT Software Systems to launch MINT TMS, an aviation training management system which includes MINT's SaaS solution. This technology allows PlaneSense to further modernise its record-keeping processes with a streamlined digital workflow for training records, qualifications and compliance oversight.

MINT TMS is a web-based solution that helps aviation operators comply with regulations by simplifying every part of the training management cycle. In addition to qualification management, MINT TMS uses intelligent decision-making in its algorithm to forecast, plan and optimise training schedules to cut costs, reduce labour and better utilise instructors, classrooms and flight simulator time. MINT TMS's robust reporting allows training departments to analyse layers of data and uncover important trends to improve training performance. Electronic grading will enable instructors to evaluate training sessions from a tablet, offline or online, removing the need for paper forms.

PlaneSense leverages the full suite of MINT TMS features, including workflows and the mobile app, with plans to integrate several of its internal systems for more efficient operations and fewer data redundancies. The service agreement includes MINT's PRD add-on for a direct connection to the FAA Pilot Records Database and MS Exchange Calendar Sync add-on to synchronise training event schedules within its corporate workforce calendars.

“MINT TMS is uniquely flexible. It's built to adapt to the specific training requirements of every customer, and for PlaneSense, that means scaling operations efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance. It is a powerful step to modernise its training processes and improve oversight,” says Nick Denton, chief customer officer of MINT.

“I continue to be amazed by the customisations and features that MINT offers. MINT is going to help us in many ways. By transitioning from manual paper record-keeping to MINT's completely digital solution, PlaneSense will streamline its entire training process,” remarks Tim Cloutier, assistant director of flight training for jet operations at PlaneSense.

PlaneSense operates the largest US fleet of PC-12 turboprops and PC-24 jets, with more than 60 aircraft. Nearly 600 employees, including 240 pilots, oversee operations and aircraft maintenance, with headquarters in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. MINT TMS now supports every training function across PlaneSense, from its Atlas Aircraft Center maintenance crews to its flight ops team and flight operations centre, making MINT a single source for training records and qualifications.
