Austrian business jet operator Tyrolean Jets & Services (TJS) has appointed Philipp Schuster as group director of business development at parent company Gama Aviation. In addition to his overarching role within the Gama Aviation group, Schuster will also join the TJS board, collaborating closely with CEO Martina Cobb to elevate TJS as a leading European boutique aircraft management provider.

Schuster brings a wealth of experience to this position, having held senior roles including accountable manager, nominated person for flight operations and nominated person for crew training. His leadership in managing significant projects within the aviation sector underscores his ability to drive operational excellence. As a rated captain and instructor on the Gulfstream G550, Citation XLS+ and Citation M2, Philipp's operational insight will be instrumental in advancing TJS's commitment to high performance, operational efficiency, customer satisfaction and regulatory adherence.

The recent integration of TJS into Gama Aviation reinforces its position as an industry leader, enhancing its ability to provide tailored aircraft management solutions. By leveraging Gama Aviation's global infrastructure, including multiple AOCs, TJS will be able to offer owners the flexibility and personalised service they expect while benefiting from a robust international platform.

TJS CEO Martina Cobb says: “As TJS continues its strategic growth within Gama Aviation, Philipp's deep expertise in AOC management and large-scale aviation projects will be invaluable. His appointment marks a critical milestone as TJS becomes the heart of Gama Aviation's European aircraft management operations. With our existing Austrian and Maltese AOCs and the forthcoming San Marino operations, we are positioned to provide unparalleled flexibility and bespoke solutions for aircraft owners. Our goal remains ambitious: to grow the TJS fleet to 15-20 aircraft, while supporting Gama Aviation's broader aim of managing 30 aircraft by 2025 and 40-50 by 2028, all while maintaining our commitment to the highest service standards.”

Philipp Schuster adds: “Joining Gama Aviation and TJS as group director of business development is an exciting opportunity to contribute to two leading aviation organisations. TJS's strong Austrian heritage, paired with Gama Aviation's global footprint, enables us to offer truly world-class aircraft management solutions. With AOCs in Austria, Malta and soon San Marino, we are able to provide tailored solutions that offer maximum flexibility to our clients. Backed by Gama Aviation's extensive global infrastructure, including its network of FBOs, maintenance facilities and AOCs across the UK, UAE and the Cayman Islands, we can deliver comprehensive, full-service aircraft management worldwide. My primary focus will be on driving strategic growth, expanding our global reach and building stronger relationships with aircraft owners worldwide. Innovation, client satisfaction and regulatory compliance are the pillars of our approach, and I look forward to using my experience to further enhance these core principles.”

Graham Williamson, managing director of aircraft management and charter at Gama Aviation, concludes: “At Gama Aviation, we believe in offering the best of both worlds: the personalised service of a boutique operator, combined with the capabilities of a global platform. TJS is a crucial part of this vision, providing a highly customised aircraft management experience backed by Gama Aviation's extensive infrastructure. With Philipp's leadership, I'm confident that TJS will not only accelerate its growth in Europe but also help expand Gama Aviation's presence on a global scale. His expertise will play a pivotal role in driving Gama's broader growth strategy, ensuring we continue to deliver outstanding service and operational excellence for our clients worldwide.”
