SRSL orders four H145 helicopters for EMS ops
The new aircraft will join existing H145 and BK117 fleet to strengthen nationwide response capabilities in remote and rugged terrain.
The H145 is powered by twin Safran Arriel 2E engines and features the Helionix avionics suite.

Search and Rescue Services (SRSL) in New Zealand has ordered four Airbus H145 helicopters to support its emergency medical operations. The aircraft will join its existing H145 and BK117 fleet and are intended to improve coverage across the country’s remote and rugged areas.

Airbus Helicopters’ managing director for Australia and New Zealand, Christian Venzal, says: “At Airbus, we are proud to contribute to New Zealand's lifesaving efforts. Helicopter emergency medical services play a vital role in the country, where rugged terrain and remote communities present unique challenges. The integration of the H145 helicopters into SRSL's operations highlights our shared vision of harnessing advanced rotorcraft solutions to enhance response capabilities, whilst improving safety standards.”

The H145 is powered by two Safran Arriel 2E engines and features the Helionix avionics suite, a Fenestron tail rotor and a spacious cabin. It has the lowest CO₂ emissions in its class and is widely used for HEMS operations, with around 600 H145 family helicopters currently flying such missions worldwide.
