Collins Aerospace is preparing to deliver its Airshow HD entertainment system integrated into Venue smart monitors, providing a standalone in-flight entertainment (IFE) option for business aviation.
For the first time, business jet passengers will have access to Airshow HD moving maps, streaming entertainment and 4K resolution without needing a full Venue cabin management system.
Nathan Voight, vice president and general manager of business and regional avionics at Collins Aerospace, says: “Airshow HD unlocks the full potential of the Venue smart monitor, allowing business jet owners increased options to upgrade and customise their cabin entertainment systems at the pace they prefer.”
The system includes an Airshow HD mobile app, giving users familiar controls via smartphone or tablet. With iOS and Android versions launching soon, passengers will be able to control content or cast to a cabin monitor. The standalone IFE system is designed for simple installation, maintenance and upgrades, integrating with aircraft connectivity to allow seamless switching between entertainment, information and personal content. It also supports touchscreen smart monitors and third-party applications like streaming services, satellite TV and personal devices.
