New Zealand CAA approves BLR FastFin for AS355
BLR Aerospace’s performance-enhancing system improves directional control and hover stability for Airbus AS355 operators.
BLR Aerospace partnered with Skywork Helicopters to develop and certify the FastFin system for the Airbus AS355.

BLR Aerospace has received Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) approval in New Zealand for its FastFin system for the Airbus AS355, developed in partnership with Skywork Helicopters. The certification expands FastFin’s availability, building on its success with the H125/AS350.

The FastFin system for the twin-engine AS355 includes an Advanced Tailboom Aerodynamic Cowling (ATAC), a tailboom strake and vortex generators. These enhancements improve directional control, hover stability and yaw axis management, reducing pilot workload, especially in crosswind conditions and precision hover-hold operations.

“Skywork has been a very professional partner on this project,” says Clay Bringhurst, president of BLR Aerospace. “We are grateful for the opportunity to work with it to bring this certification to fruition and expand the BLR FastFin’s reach to yet another platform.”
