Duncan Aviation has completed a bespoke paint scheme for a Global Express, featuring a blue and black gradient fade with a custom topographic map on the tail. The design, created at its Lincoln, Nebraska facility, was a collaboration between Duncan Aviation designer Jaime Blanken and the owner’s interior designers at Alicia Cheung Design and Eva Bradley Studio.
“The aircraft interior was already blue and he wanted to extend that palette to the exterior,” says Blanken. The tail’s map, rendered in regal blue pearl, represents a location of personal significance to the owner. The layout team carefully positioned the design for balance across both sides of the aircraft, ensuring precision and symmetry.
Cheung describes the collaboration as seamless: “Working with Jaime was a fantastic experience. She was attentive to all our feedback, highly collaborative and always friendly. Her expertise and approachability made the process effortless.” Bradley adds: “The Duncan Aviation team was an absolute pleasure to work with. Their expertise and professionalism were evident every step of the way.”
Paint team lead Cody Hasse notes the challenges of transforming a two-dimensional design onto the aircraft’s curved surfaces. His team ensured crisp lines and smooth transitions before applying the final clear coat. The detail team then refined the finish, integrating sealers to create a fluid, cohesive look.
“This project went smoothly thanks to the collaborative efforts of the paint, layout and detail teams,” says Hasse. “The outstanding support from airframe was also instrumental in our success.”
The finished design blends elegance with personal significance, delivering a striking aircraft that reflects the owner’s vision.
